7 Layer Bars photo by Danica Staples |
The recipe for Seven Layer Bars is a family favorite. We made it a habit to include these cookie bars on camping trips, but they make a popular dessert for any occasion.
How to Make 7 Layer Bars

- 1 1/2 cup (135 g) graham cracker crumbs

- 6 oz. (168 g) package butterscotch chips
- 6 oz. (168 g) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 oz. can (396 g) of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup (150 g) chopped walnuts or pecans
- Melt the butter in a 9 x 13 x 2" (32.5 x 23 x 5 cm) pan.
- Press the graham cracker crumbs into the butter evenly to make the crust.
- Sprinkle the coconut over the graham cracker crust.
- Sprinkle the butterscotch chips and then the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the coconut.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the chips.
