Baywire Food and Recipes

Great times among friends always seem to incorporate food, and I admire exceptional cooks whose tasty fare warms hearth and home. I've been collecting recipes for years and want to share the best ones with you. These are the standouts in my file box, gleaned from potlucks, showers, church parties, caterers and a few relatives with impeccable credentials.

When I was engaged to my husband, our church threw a bridal shower for me, and everyone was instructed to bring a recipe on a 3 x 5" card. These were obviously their favorite dishes, great fun for me to read and later make at home. An older lady named Jane Werner, an experienced cook and regular hostess for church parties, gave me her "Life's Recipe," and I would like to share it with you.

Life's Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup good thoughts
  • 1 cup of kind deeds
  • 1 cup of consideration for others
  • 2 cups of sacrifice for others
  • 3 cups of forgiveness
  • 2 cups of small beaten faults
Directions:
  1. Mix everything thoroughly and add tears of joy, and sorrow, and sympathy for others.
  2. Flavor with little gifts of love and kind service.
  3. Fold in four cups of prayer and faith to lighten the other ingredients, and raise the texture to great heights.
  4. After pouring all these into your daily life, bake well with the warmth of human kindness. Serve with a smile.
