The One-Minute Cure by Madison Cavanaugh claims to cure osteoarthritis and other serious illnesses, bringing ailing bodies back to health. A good friend gave me a copy and asked me to read it, wondering what I might think about this revolutionary book that claims the answer for healing. I am not from the health care industry, but am a health care consumer who frankly doesn't like most of the options offered by western medicine. I was so intrigued by the author's claims I decided to implement her remedy. I will try anything once, especially if it has virtually no ill side effects, and this is my story.

The Quest for an Arthritis Cure


Stop Aging Now -SOGI am in my fifties, and my biggest health issue is osteoarthritis, significantly affecting my hips, spine, ribs, arms and neck. A doctor told me once there is no cure. Also, my metabolism and circulatory systems are sluggish, and my yellow tongue indicates liver problems, but my acupuncturist said, "your liver works, it's just slow." My vices are coffee, chocolate and sugar, which are very counter-productive, so I assuage my conscience by stirring stevia into my morning brew. I eat lots of fruits
and vegetables, raw dairy products, organic fish and poultry, and sometimes organic, grass-fed beef.

Other than ibuprofen or Tylenol once in awhile, I don't take any drugs. The only supplements I use are Hyaluronic Acid and Now brand's Joint Support. To test the effectiveness of food-grade hydrogen peroxide, I will forego these pills in the beginning. I live with chronic pain, but do have a high threshold for it.

I am always looking at holistic therapies. I exercise regularly, jog or walk with my dog, practice yoga and in general, lead an active life. The various methods I've used have been chiropractic, massages, acupuncture using the painful cupping procedure, body wraps and detoxing with the Master Cleanser lemonade drink. So many of my acquaintances have become prescription drug junkies or been subjected to Frankenstein-like procedures to rid their bodies of cancer, diabetes or other serious illnesses, only to be severely disappointed in their results. With all the resources that have been invested in the health care industry, I wonder why the cures for many diseases are so elusive.

Food Grade hydrogen peroxide and The One Minute Cure

I don't know any doctors who prescribe drinking hydrogen peroxide, but I do trust Dr. David Williams, the naturopath Cavanaugh got her information from for Chapter Four. Dr. Williams set forth dosages for consuming the substance internally, and I will follow his plan. I embark on my healing journey with no medical supervision, but I don't care.

The local health food store doesn't sell food-grade hydrogen peroxide, so I have to order it online along with an eye dropper. Apparently this stuff can be fatal if taken undiluted, so the health food store won't take the liability risk of selling it, in case their customers misuse it. I begin with adding three drops of food-grade 35% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into a cup of distilled water and drink it three times during the day. I don't even taste it and see little change in my body.

I increase the dosage by one more drop per day, still drinking it three times per day, and progressively notice improvement in my skin color, with blue veins in my legs and arms lightening. By the time the dosage is nine drops, the drink has a strong bleach taste, and I feel nauseous, fatigued and loopy. I didn't wake up one morning till 11:45 a.m., which shocked me. I begin to be very careful about drinking it on an empty stomach and drink more water afterwards to get rid of the foul aftertaste. I feel a mixture of dread and excitement every day, bracing myself to gulp this bleachy liquid for the rewarding experience of having my skin color become more pink, spider veins fade, and my osteoarthritis pain finally begin to ebb.

I also use a 3% solution of H2O2 as a mouthwash to see if it would get rid of my yellow tongue, but it only made my tongue froth like H2O2 does on a skin wound. I continue drinking diluted glasses of it, though, adding one more drop everyday. My first dose is early morning, and I go back to bed so that my body will be relaxed, as Cavanaugh states the one-minute cure works best when the body is not stressed. At the dosage of sixteen drops, I feel very nauseous an hour and a half after drinking my morning glass. I throw up one time but there is no food in my stomach, so it was just water. I feel pain on the left side of my abdomen for about an hour before it dissipates, but I don't know what it is. Perhaps some interior cleansing?

I sense the H2O2 is working as strength is returning to weak areas of my body. I habitually go back to bed after my early morning glass, and begin to see a pattern. After ten minutes I feel awful, loopy and lethargic, and try to think of anything to distract myself. After twenty minutes, my breathing becomes dramatically easier, like a breath of fresh air has filled my nostrils. After forty minutes, the loopiness starts to wear off and I look forward to eating breakfast. I am ecstatic I made it through the first dose of the day but do dread the next two. I gulp them down fast just to get them over with, after waiting three hours from the last meal. Then I wait for almost an hour before I eat something.

The day I drink seventeen drops is foggy outside, and a damp climate always aggravates my arthritis. The next day I find myself sleeping in again and feeling very lethargic. I eat some white chocolate, but it sets me back and I regret the indulgence. At nineteen drops, I go back to bed as usual after my first glass and try to relax by breathing deeply. It helps, and I feel a very faint sizzling sensation. I imagine my body being cleaned out like H2O2 cleansing a flesh wound. Anyone who does yoga can probably relate to these feelings of integration and healing, as it is similar to the effects of the corpse pose at the end of a good session. However, the strong taste is more than I can bear. I begin adding half a cup of freshly squeezed lemonade with maple syrup as the sweetener into the drink, a recipe from The Master Cleanser minus the red pepper, and it becomes somewhat palatable. Then I drink more lemonade to chase away the aftertaste.

The morning I must consume twenty drops, I wake before dawn with dread at the thought, but pour the first drink anyway into some lemonade. I wonder how to survive the next few days as the dosage becomes the strongest, especially since two days from now my husband and I will be meeting the parents of our son's serious girlfriend for the first time, and I would like to be lucid. The drink goes down quickly and, followed by a lemonade chaser, gives no gagging aftertaste. I return to bed for an hour to fully relax and let the H2O2 do its work. My head is elevated on pillows to prevent that nauseous feeling, and I again feel that hard-to-describe faint sizzling. It is more intense in the areas of my body where I have the most pain.

On the day of the twenty-two drop dosage, my skin feels noticeably softer and the color is still improving remarkably. My arthritic pain is still there, but it is a dull ache instead of the sharp pain it has been for so many years. At twenty-three drops, I notice dramatic improvement in my most troubled area, my right hip. The pain is significantly reduced. I determine to sustain this level for another week as the book suggests, if one is not completely cured.

One week later, my arthritic pain and stiffness are seriously diminished, but not gone. The nausea and loopy feeling are blessedly gone, though, so I decide to drink the H2O2 mixture just twice a day instead of three times until I can declare complete healing and my hip joints can move freely. Is that truly attainable? I resume taking the supplements Hyaluronic Acid and Joint Support to help rebuild my damaged cells. I am convinced the H2O2 truly works to heal the body of even a supposedly incurable condition, and I will continue the regime for the next six months, if necessary, until I am whole.

The months march on and my body feels progressively better. When it rained after a long dry spell, I didn't feel any extra pain, which is highly unusual. I have more energy so I am back to my previous exercise regime, jogging for twenty minutes three or four times a week, plus yoga. Oddly, sugar isn't appealing to me anymore. I don't really care to eat sweets, not even chocolate. Without the sugar cravings that have plagued me all my life, it is so much easier to eat healthy foods. The H2O2 still tastes horrible, so I add about a teaspoon of pure lemon juice to the distilled water and half cup of lemonade, which makes it more bearable. I concentrate on the maple syrup ingredient in my lemonade, which helps me to taste it through the bleach, a small mental triumph that makes the one-minute glugging more bearable. Soon I don't bother with the extra teaspoon of lemon juice and just use lemonade. I get used to it and it seems less nasty. The best thing is that I don't feel nauseous afterwards anymore.

When cold weather sets in, I have a setback, experiencing pain in my joints for about a week, but as time goes on, rain and cold weather don't affect me much at all. After six months, the book advises to lower the dosage one drop a day until reaching the maintenance dosage of three drops a day. I know I am not cured, so I continue taking twenty-three drops of H2O2 in lemonade and distilled water twice a day. Some days I miss a dose, but am quite diligent otherwise. There are no negative side effects whatsoever, but the cure for me apparently will be slow.

After ten months, I am still taking the maximum twenty-three drop dosage twice a day, but I come down with diverticulitis. The doctor says I haven't been drinking enough water, which puzzles me because I thought I was, and I wonder why the H2O2 didn't prevent this disease. I don't know if there is any connection at all between the diverticulitis and ingesting H2O2, but I drop down to a maintenance dosage of drinking three drops once a day, and drink more water. For anyone adhering to Madison Cavanaugh's regimen, I would emphasize the need to drink a lot of water as the body is detoxing.

After all this time, I must admit that the osteoarthritis is not completely cured but my overall health has greatly improved. Perhaps my particular case needs more time, so I will be patient with my body, and determine to continue consuming the maintenance level of H2O2 on a daily basis. I lead a very active life, jogging two or three times a week for twenty minutes, walk daily, have core strength and can twist into all kinds of yoga contortions. I also ride the back of my husband's motorcycle on cross-country trips with no problems.

In conclusion, I am convinced that the H2O2 has helped me considerably. My journey has been unscientific, undertaken without a doctor's supervision, but I don't think that was necessary since I was consuming a natural substance. To be taken seriously in proving a thesis, however, one would need to undergo before-and-after tests and x-rays and then record much more data. You also need to be taking it with some kind of acidophilus to help re-establish the beneficial bacterial flora in the lower bowel since they apparently get reduced as well. Maybe you could add that info to your original post to help your readers. Dr. David G. Williams posted the flora info on his site along with taking Vit. E with H202 which 'can make more efficient use of any oxygen available.

I must emphasize that I am not a doctor or nutritionist, merely an individual who read an intriguing self-help book with an affordable, natural solution against illness, and hope my experience can help others interested in trying it.
